A multi-site hackhaton in northern Italy to test Open DAI platform

A multi-site hackhaton was held On 27 July in northern Italy, in the cites Turin and Alessandria. This was an opportunity also to test the platfrom for open data diffusion implemented within the Open DAI project. The initiative, indeed, follows the presentation of the Open DAI platform held by the Nexa Center and Luca Gioppo of CSI-Piemonte the previous July 24, in form of lunch seminar.

The outcome of both hackathon was definitely stimulating and positive. In Turin, the focus was on the use of data of architectural heritage and museums of Piedmont, and on the temperature data in real time. In Alessandria, instead, the focus was on the use of data relating to the regional budget,  as published on the open data portal of Regione piemonte.

Organizators are planning for September 25 a new lunch seminar dedicated to the presentation of the works developed by participants. Some pictures from the event can be seen here: http://nexa.polito.it/lunch-13.

Participants were then sent a short questionnaire useful for organizers and data providers to understand how to improve the usability of the data for app developers.
